About
The Punjab Education Summit 2026 is the first-ever flagship international gathering of its kind, convened by the School Education Department, Government of the Punjab, bringing together education ministers, senior policymakers, researchers, development partners, practitioners, and innovators from across the world. The Summit is anchored in the vision and reform agenda of the Chief Minister Punjab, Pakistan, aimed at advancing inclusive, equitable, and future-ready education systems in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4. Punjab is currently undertaking large-scale, system-wide education reforms focused on strengthening governance, expanding access, improving quality, and fostering innovation. This conference provides a strategic platform to showcase Punjab’s reform journey, draw on global experiences, and collectively explore evidence-based solutions to the most pressing challenges facing education systems in the twenty-first century.

Themes & Sub-Themes
The Punjab Education Summit 2026 is structured around dedicated themes to enable focused dialogue, targeted knowledge exchange, and solution-oriented discussions. These themes and sub-themes reflect Punjab’s reform priorities and are designed to convene policymakers, practitioners, development partners, and private-sector actors to share evidence, innovations, and scalable models for system-wide education transformation.
Theme 1: Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)
Focuses on Punjab’s FLN reforms, highlighting policy priorities, implementation challenges, and successful interventions across early and primary education.
Theme 2: Public–Private Partnerships for Educational Development and Quality
Examines how public–private partnerships are strengthening access, quality, and system efficiency through outsourcing, innovative financing, and targeted enrolment strategies.
Sub-theme 1: Advancing Foundational Literacy and Numeracy – Policy, Practice, and Impact
Explores evidence-based pedagogies, Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), assessment practices, and reading-focused interventions to improve literacy and numeracy.
Sub-theme 2: Early Childhood Education for Lifelong Learning
Focuses on school readiness through quality Early Childhood Education, play-based learning, inclusion, and professional capacity-building.
Sub-theme 3: Nutrition, Health, and Student Well-Being
Highlights school meal programmes and integrated health and wellness interventions as enablers of learning.
Sub-theme 4: Public-Private Partnerships in Education – Innovation, Outsourcing, and Financing
Examines PPP and school outsourcing models that improve access, quality, and governance.
Sub-theme 5: Access, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Cohesion
Explores PPP-driven strategies to reduce Out-of-School Children and improve enrolment, attendance, and retention.
Sub-theme 6: Governance, Leadership, and System Strengthening through PPP
Focuses on strengthening governance, leadership, and policy frameworks through PPPs.
Call for Papers
Researchers, policymakers, and practitioners are invited to submit original and unpublished work in the form of research papers, policy briefs, case studies, and innovative practices. All submissions will undergo a peer-review process. Accepted contributions will be presented during the conference and published in the official conference proceedings and policy compendium. Selected papers may also be considered for post-conference academic or policy publications.
